"You can't separate fitness and wellness," says Hotel Director Dr Anna-Maria Fässler

Bar ohne Namen

She is a hotel director, award winner and FIBO Ambassador. Dr Anna-Maria Fässler. We met the hospitality expert at FIBO 2024 and asked her a few questions about the industry.

FIBO 2024: How was it?

The trade fair has become incredibly lively and there are some very interesting topics.

Where do you see the fit between wellness, spa & fitness?

Bringing these topics together is an important development. I see this at our hotel: fitness and wellness cannot be separated. This was also emphasised by the discussions at our stand. There were many wellness hotels on site, enquiring about what's new in the fitness industry. Each of us has incredibly great hotel facilities and you always need to know what's new, what's needed in terms of cosmetics, in the body sector. For this reason alone, it is extremely important that these two areas are brought together.

What is currently the most important topic in the hotel industry?

The healthcare market. The whole topic of longevity is a very, very important area at the moment, where we don't really know where the journey is going. Health has always been a top priority in wellness hotels. But now, of course, it has taken on a different dimension with cell development and the various longevity topics. We need to look at where the journey is taking us. There are so many extremely great innovations.

It was a festive day for the hotel industry at FIBO 2024: MeinTophotel presented the Aktiv Hotel Award. Dr Anna-Maria Fässler was also honoured and was delighted to receive the award in the "Golf" category for her Sonnenalp Resort in Ofterschwang.
